I managed to get one good set of knives before I accidentally broke the mold. huge pain in my ass considering it took about three days to make a rubber mold with a plaster casing. I split the plaster casing in half when I pulled the first cast. ahwell, thems the breaks. next time I'll make one cast at a time instead of trying a stupidly ambitious all in one mold.

Pain's knife set still needs some refining and sanding. I'm considering casting these because I'm not too confident in the durability of the scratch builds.Plus, my kid really wants a set now.
It took some revising to get the handles to sit correctly in the hand. really liking how they're coming along though.

Too busy
The customs list is now closed. If money or figures have exchanged hands then your project is on the table.
I'm getting overworked between side projects, my part time, and working on my own long haul projects.
Making time for my friends and family is becoming increasingly difficult.
If you're patient, and can handle waiting a few months to see your project finished, then drop me an email.
Big thanks to everyone that have dropped me messages showing interest and offering criticism.
I'll keep posting updates when I can make time.

1:3 Pain
This just showed up at the studio, and is waiting patiently on my customization list.
I have to admit, I've had a hard time understanding peoples attraction to Coarse Toys. I realize now that its because I'd only seen images of them online. Having one in front of me makes it pretty clear. The packaging alone is very well designed, and the quality and detail of the figure itself is top notch. While I probably won't collect them, mostly because of the price point, I will be paying more attention to future (hopefully more affordable) releases.

painting figures
This link covers some pretty good points on custom painting figures, what kind of paints to use for different types of plastic, etc.
I painted Kitty using Tamiya, rusto, and testors enamels. Rusto doesn't sit well, so I would avoid using it in the future. Tamiya and testors paints apply much thinner, and tend to dry much faster than paints you would purchase at a hardware store.
